What is going on in Libya?

I apologize for the open nature of the question but I don't own a TV nor usually have access to the internet. I was in Survival school for a month previously and have been hearing alot about bombings in libya and feel totally ignorant of the situation over there. Can someone run down a quick synopsis of the events that have led up to and what is currently going on? Also please stay away from political bias. I am in the Military and I try to retain a totally neutral opinion so I dont care about the politics. I simply want the facts of the situation. Thanks
